Challenge:
Our client, a model, reached out for styling assistance for his upcoming photoshoot with a retro 80s/90s throwback athletic aesthetic.
Approach:
Using an agile process and prototypes, we worked with our client and his photographer to refine their creative vision. We used photoshop and actual products to create prototypes that visually showed them their desired aesthetic. We identified their likes and dislikes and made decisions accordingly.
Outcome:
After refining the look, we decided on an athleisure style with retro-inspired color blocking. We were also able to incorporate the models desired Air Jordan 1s and a unique coat from our designer friend Yaseen, which helped to reduce costs. Our collaboration resulted in features in Vogue Italia, Solis Magazine, and Elegant Magazine.
Lesson learned:
An agile process and the use of prototypes can be an effective way to refine a creative vision, identify likes and dislikes, and ultimately make decisions that help achieve the desired outcome.
