Challenge:
The film "Evil for Evil" is a story that explores the personal growth of the main character, Josiah King. As a wardrobe stylist, my challenge is to create costumes that help portray the character's journey and showcase the film's overall aesthetic. The wardrobe has to be functional, practical, and visually appealing while being authentic to the story and the character's background.
Approach:
We analyzed the script and collaborated with the director, production designer, and cinematographer to create a wardrobe plan that reflects the film's visual language and color palette. Josiah King's wardrobe highlights his artistic side with a mix of casual outfits, which evolves into a more sophisticated look as he grows as a person. We created a realistic and authentic suburban wardrobe, paying attention to details like accessories, shoes, and hairstyles to enhance the character's overall appearance.
Outcome:
We successfully curated wardrobe that enhances the film's visual language and helps to tell the story of Josiah King. We ensured that the wardrobe fits seamlessly with the film's overall aesthetic, and the final outcome was cohesive and visually stunning film that tells a compelling story.
Lesson Learned:
As a wardrobe stylist, this project taught us the importance of collaboration and attention to detail. We learned how to work closely with the director, production designer, and cinematographer to ensure that the wardrobe fits seamlessly with the film's overall aesthetic.
